About the Author
Alexander James Vincent is a Web design expert based in Vallejo, CA. Born and raised in Seattle, WA, he served 23 months in the United States Navy as a Seaman Journalist. Following his tour of duty, he returned to the field of computers he grew up around and discovered JavaScript. Since then he has become a standards evangelist for Web design, and works to encourage best practices in coding for all Web languages, client- and server-side. He moderates the JavaScript Programming Help forum and writes tutorials for Website Abstraction at http://www.wsabstract.com. He also contributes Quality Assurance efforts to the Mozilla.org project. He is currently in the process of completing the design of his JavaScript Laboratory site at http://www.jslab.org, a project he set aside while writitng the JavaScript Developer's Dictionary.
